About Recognitions
Recognitions are items granted to donors for their donations. Recognitions are commonly used in major giving transactions related to naming rights, such as naming the wing of a building or an inscription on a honoree monument.
For example, an organization may start a capital campaign aimed to fund a park restoration for inner city youth. As an incentive to attract major gift donations, organizations may offer items, such as donor recognition plauqes, bricks or benches to be placed in the park as a way to signify the donor's support for their movement.
Use Recognition records to track of given items, identify custom inscriptions or store authenticity certificate information for the recognition.
The following tables describe all of the available fields on the Recognitions VAE in the default order that they appear on the screen:

Recognition Detail Record Fields
Gift Transaction No. |
|
Identifies the transaction number of the gift associated with the Recognition record. The Gift Date displays to the right of the transaction number.
Gift transaction numbers are displayed as links which, when clicked, access the associated gift record.

Batch No. Transaction |
|
Identifies the batch number associated with gift recognition.
|
Item Recognized |
|
The item sleected from the inventory to send to the donor.
When selecting an item from the drop-down list, details for the item will display in the field space. The information displayed is:
- Category
- Location
- Warehouse
- User Description

Department |
|
A free-text field used to identify which Department the recognition is located in. |
Room No. |
|
A free-text field used to identify the room the recognition is stored. |
User Desc 3 |
|
A coded-table field used by organizations to add a custom field to a Recognition record. |
Block Space |
|
A free-text field to store a specific placement associated with a recognition. |
Special Instructions |
|
A free-text field to store any additional instructions associated with the recognition. |
Remark |
|
A free-text field to store any additional information associated with the recognition. |

Additional
Honorees |
|
Identify the indivudal to be honored by your organization.
When selecting an Honoreee, you can identifiy the relationship in the corresponding field. Additionally, if the recognition is in memorial of a prospect or spouse, you can select the appropriate check boxes. If there are multiple individuals in tribute, click the Add button to identify additional honorees. If an honoree is added in error, you can remove the individual by clicking the Removoe button next to the appropriate field.

Inscription |
|
A free-text field to enter the inscription that will appear on the recognition.
When entering an inscription, each line in ClearView represents a new line to print or etch on the recognition. To add a new line, click the Add button underneath the current field. You can remove a line by clicking the remove icon next to the field.

Hebrew Inscription |
|
Indicate if the inscription will be generated in Hebrew. |

How to use Recognition records
To create a new recognition record for a prospect
To view the recognition record for a prospect
To edit the entire recognition record
To in-line edit a field within the recognition record

To create the Recognition record for a prospect:
1. On the prospect summary page, on the Go To menu, and click Gifts .
- The Gifts full-page data table displays .
2. On the data table, select a gift transaction .
- The Gift detail record appears .
3. On the Gift detail record, in Quick Actions, click the Create Recognition link .
- The Recognitions page displays.
4. Enter your data in the displayed fields as desired.
5. At the top or bottom of the page, press the Save button to save your changes or the Cancel link to return to the previous page without making any changes.

To view the Recognition record for a prospect:
1. On the Prospect Summary View page, find and click Recognition on the Go To menu .
Alternatively, you can click on the button next to the prospect's name and click Recognition on the Quick Menu pop-up.
- The Recognition full-page data table displays .
2. On the Recognition full-page data table, select the Recognition detail record you would like to view from the displayed results.

To edit the entire Recognition record:
1. Toward the top-right of the Recognition record, click the Edit All link .
- All editable fields on the page will become available for changes.
When editing the Item Recognized field, the item details will change based on the selection.
2. Edit any field as desired.
3. At the top or bottom of the page, click the
Save
button to save your changes or the
Cancel
Recognition
record without making any changes.

To in-line edit a field within the Recognition record:
1. Click on the field you want to edit.
To determine if a field can be edited, hover the mouse cursor over it; if an Edit icon appears at the end of the field, you can click within the field to make changes.
When editing the Item Recognized field, the item details change based on the selection.
3. Click the Save button to save your changes or the Cancel link to return to the Recognition record without making any changes.

To delete all data in the Recognition record:
1. Toward the top-right of the prospect record, click the Tools link .
2. On the Tools drop-down menu, click the Delete link .
3. A Delete Record pop-up window will appear , confirming that you want to delete all Recognition data:
- Click Yes to permanently delete the data.
Once information in the Recognition record is deleted, it cannot be retrieved.
- Click No to return to the Recognition record without making any changes.
